　　《無處是吾家》是馬田史高西斯製作的人物傳記紀錄片，記述卜戴倫1961-1966年間的生平，以及他對二十世紀美國流行音樂文化的深遠影響。本片紀錄了他由1961年1月到達紐約，直到1966年7月發生電單車意外期間的數段往事，探討他由民歌創作歌手，蛻變成搖滾詩人的心路歷程。片名取自卜戴倫1965年的熱播單曲「像塊滾動的石頭」。
　　卜戴倫是第一位以音樂人身份得到諾貝爾文學獎的傳奇人物。《無處是吾家》紀錄了他歷年來的歌詞及詩詞作品，為他摘下文學獎奠下根基。卜甫出道便被人視為抗爭先鋒，作品被冠以抗爭旗號，他卻一心只求在音樂及詩詞的創作路上得到勝利，漠視外間賦予的期望及標籤。卜戴倫的事業及政治取向，對當代年輕人影響深遠，更引起激烈爭議。一向反叛的卜戴倫，為本紀錄片做了長達十小時的訪問，是近年最詳盡的訪談紀錄。他親自對他的決定作出平反。發自內心的剖白，讓樂迷了解不同階段最真實的他。
　　著名的巡迴表演及音樂節畫面，及卜戴倫日常的錄影，均節錄自數百小時的母帶。某些罕有畫面更經過特別修復才得以曝光。導演同時訪問了Joan Baez、Pete Seeger、Liam Clancy、Maria Muldaur、Peter Yarrow等舉足輕重的殿堂級音樂人，他們全部均與卜戴倫關係密切，令本片更豐富立體。
