　　對於這歌的歌詞，網有很多解釋，其中The Band, the Weight歌詞如何翻譯比較好？最後介紹這首歌緣起：

　　The Weight是在布努埃爾（Luis Buñuel）電影影響下寫成的。布努埃爾的電影多為超現實主義，以反教會和諷刺社會生活中的虛偽為主題（個人理解The Weight表達的就是對耶穌和他的使徒門奉獻行為的否定，認為其難以實現）。
　　拿撒勒（Nazareth）是耶穌誕生的地方
　　歌詞裏有幾處連英語國家的人也爭論不休：Annie OR Fanny; fog OR fall; fack OR rat。這裏第一處理解成Fanny，與最後的Miss Fanny相呼應，意即「我」主動替Fanny扛下了包袱。
　　Crazy Chester說的rack（此處取rack）是指牀，美國軍隊裏常這麼說。
　　「Cannonball」是火車名。

　　首先不太懂英文，能否瞭解歌詞有一定局限，內容是否講及耶穌不知道，不過肯定這個世界上有很多好心做壞事的人。
　　簡單說，有些人以為傳媒工作者很神聖，充滿正義，連站出來也道貌岸然，每見這些人心中都不禁懷疑，究竟他們知不知道平凡人雖然間中會有神聖的一面，但亦有魔鬼的本性呢？當他們叫別人背負起重擔之時，正是好心做了壞事。
　　聽這首歌令人想起了以前都會碰到的一班人，每天都一副正人君子的模樣，自以為救世者，日日如此你們唔攰的嗎？
　　自己去送死唔緊要，唔好叫別人陪葬。
